This road <strong>connects almost all the towns and villages on the Amalfi Coast<\/strong>, from the hills of Piano di Sorrento to Vietri sul Mare.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Each of them has its own atmosphere and their geographical or cultural features make them unique. It\u2019s no coincidence that t<strong>he Amalfi Coast is a World Heritage Site by Unesco<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">So which are these towns and villages and what is special about them?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Let\u2019s give you a quick overview to get an idea of <strong>Amalfi, Atrani, Cetara, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Maiori, Minori, Positano, Praiano, Ravello, Scala, Tramonti and Vietri sul Mare<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\">TOWNS AND VILLAGES ON THE AMALFI COAST<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">AMALFI<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Amalfi is both an ancient fishing village and <strong>one of the most popular tourist destinations<\/strong> in the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Located in the center of the Amalfi Coast to which it gives its name, it\u2019s a convenient point from which to explore other villages.<br \/>\nIn addition, <strong>the beaches in Amalfi are among the most beautiful on the Coast<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentalsinitaly.it\/blog\/what-to-see-and-do-in-the-town-of-amalfi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Read the article about the town of Amalfi.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">ATRANI<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Atrani is considered t<strong>he smallest municipality in Italy<\/strong> and it is located so close to Amalfi that you can reach it on foot. It\u2019s not very touristy even if it is located near the famous <strong>Emerald Grotto<\/strong>, a sea cave famous all over the world for the wonderful reflections of the water and the rock formations.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">FURORE<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Furore is a <strong>fjord<\/strong>, with a small beach, dominated by a picturesque bridge. It\u2019s definitely an enchanting scenery, made even more fascinating by the <strong>murals<\/strong> that decorate the walls of the buildings.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">MAIORI<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">In Maiori you can find<strong> the largest beach on the Amalfi Coast<\/strong>, about 1 km long. This beach is quite recent and it is the result of a flood in 1954 . Unlike other places, in Maiori you can find bathing establishments and a beautiful promenade with restaurants, bars and shops. This is why it is perfect for those seeking tranquility and contact with nature.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A peculiarity of Praiano is its geographical position thanks to which <strong>its beaches are sunlit until sunset<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">RAVELLO<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Ravello is undoubtedly <strong>the cultural center of the Amalfi Coast<\/strong>, known for the many events held in its beautiful villas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">One of the most famous spot in Ravello is <strong>the terrace of Villa Rufolo<\/strong> overlooking the sea, where every year the Dawn Concert takes place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Since it is in a higher position above sea level, <strong>there are no beaches in Ravello<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">SCALA<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Scala is <strong>the oldest town on the Amalfi Coast.<\/strong> The legend says that it was founded in the 4th century by some Roman shipwrecks headed for Constantinople. Historic buildings and ancient churches are not lacking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Scala is little visited by tourist, so it has a quiet and very authentic atmosphere.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">TRAMONTI<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Tramonti is located on a hill, far from the sea. Despite this, it is truly fascinating. The municipality of Tramonti includes <strong>13 hamlets scattered among the hills<\/strong>, in each of which there are churches and the remains of ancient castles and fortresses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Oh, Tramonti is also <strong>the village where the Pizza was born<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">VIETRI SUL MARE<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">Vietri sul Mare is famous for its <strong>ceramics<\/strong>, but here you can also find some of the largest and most well-served beaches on the Amalfi Coast.
