For this reason there are no famous monuments. Despite this, there are a couple that are worth seeing.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">THE CURCH OF SANTA MARIA DELLE GRAZIE<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">The main one is <strong>the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie<\/strong>. The church dates back to 1600 and is in the main square of the town. Its main feature is <strong>the beautiful altar with mother-of-pearl and lapis lazuli decorations<\/strong> from an ancient church in Naples.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\">MONASTERO DEL DESERTO AND THE BELVEDERE<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">The second monument worth visiting is<strong> Monastero del Deserto<\/strong>, the Desert Monastery. The monastery is on top of the homonymous hill and was <strong>built by the Carmelite friars in 1679<\/strong>. You can reach this small beach in two ways: <strong>on a boat or walking down hundreds of steps carved into the rock<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A legend says that <strong>the apostle Peter landed here on his difficult journey to Rome<\/strong>.
