1) Paper Museum in Amalfi
Amalfi is famous for the production of excellent quality paper. This tradition dates back to ancient times and has been one of the elements of the town’s development. At the time, old rags of linen, cotton, hemp, or jute were shredded and reworked into a pulp along with water. Then, they were filtered through a loom and let to dry. The entire process was exclusively done by hand.
The Amalfi Paper Museum is inside in an ancient 13th-century paper mill. To visit it is like going back in time, since all the machinery is original. Sorrento Experience Museum is a multimedia museum about the history and traditions of the city of Sorrento and its surroundings. The exhibit unfolds within corridors that look like tuff caves, where visitors find installations, artwork, and handicrafts.

3) MAR – Roman Archaelogical Museum in Positano
The MAR is a truly incredible archaeological museum built around the remains of an ancient Roman villa discovered under the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Positano.
The remains of the Roman villa, Villa D’Ozio, are very large and extend under the entire ground of the town. The villa belonged to a family of the senatorial class and was buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.
During excavations, archaeologists found intact frescoed walls with vivid colors and stucco reliefs, mosaic floors, columns, and numerous objects of daily use. They also found an ancient medieval crypt in between the Roman Villa and the Church, which they restored.
4) Museo Correale di Terranova in Amalfi
This is one of the most atypical museums on the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento Coast. In fact, thanks to the beauty of the building and the surrounding park, the museum is also a venue for weddings, events, and concerts.
The museum is located inside a villa that was the summer residence of the Correale family, who received it as a gift in 1428 from the Queen of Naples Joanna II of Anjou as thanks for their services to the court.
The villa houses a historical library and a collection of archaeological artifacts. There are also examples of enchanting local craftsmanship (such as Sorrentine marquetry), paintings, as well as historical furniture and prestigious 1700s porcelain.
