Valentine’s Day. The most romantic places on the Amalfi Coast
Valentine’s Day is coming and the Amalfi Coast is the perfect destination for a romantic weekend.
Why? Well, there are lovely towns, plenty of tourist attractions, spas and excellent restaurants. And what about the breathtaking views of the sea? They are the best background for a romantic dinner or a marriage proposal, aren’t they?
Here are the 4 most romantic places on the Amalfi Coast in our opinion.
VALENTINE’S DAY, THE 4 MOST ROMANTIC PLACES ON THE AMALFI COAST
1) THE TERRACE OF VILLA CIMBRONE, RAVELLO
One of the most romantic places on the Amalfi Coast is certainly the terrace of Villa Cimbrone, in Ravello.
Villa Cimbrone is an elegant building whose origins date back to the 11th century. Despite this, the villa reached its maximum splendor first in the early 20th century and then after the Second World War.
One of the strengths of the Villa is the lush botanical garden. Within the garden is the Belvedere, a terrace from which you can admire an incredible view of the infinite sea.
Believe us, this is the right place to declare eternal love.
2) THE BEACH OF LOVERS
Despite the temperate climate, February is still too cool to sunbathe or swim in the sea. However, on sunny days it is pleasant to spend some time on a beach. Which one?
For Valentine’s Day the best one is Spiaggia degli Amanti, that is the Beach of Lovers, near Cetara.
This is tiny beach, surrounded by high rock walls and washed by an emerald sea. And most of, people can only reach it by sea.
In short, it is an intimate place, where you and your significant other can cuddle without without any disturbance.
3) THE ARCH OF LOVERS ON THE BEACH OF SANTA CROCE
Among the most romantic places on the Amalfi coast is another beach: the beach of Santa Croce, in Vettica Minore.
This is undoubtedly a beautiful beach, but its main feature is a particular rock formation that looks like an arch. It is called Arco degli Innamorati, that is the Arch of Lovers.
According to a local tradition, it is a good omen that couples share a kiss as they pass under the arch.
But in Santa Croce there is also another symbol of love. It is an ancient watchtower. Why is it special? Because Carlo Ponti gave it to Sophia Loren a gift for their engagement.
4) THE PATH OF LOVE IN FURORE
Valentine’s Day is the right time for a declaration of love. Unfortunately, not everyone is good with words.
If you want to impress your SO but you don’t know what to say, take them for a walk along the Path of Love in Furore.
Along the path you’ll find numerous benches. On each of them there is a ceramic with romantic quotes taken from novels, poems and songs. You can express your feelings simply by reading them.
In any case, the path is gorgeous even if you stay silent.
