A Day at Lannio Beach, Cetara, Amalfi Coast
Near the charming fishing village of Cetara, on the iconic Amalfi Coast, Lannio Beach (Spiaggia del Lannio), a small, pebbly beach known for its tranquil atmosphere and stunning surroundings.
What to Expect at Lannio Beach
The name “Lannio” is thought to originate from the term “punishment,” possibly referencing its historical use as a site where pirates were punished during medieval times. Today, however, it’s a place of peace and beauty.
Surrounded by cliffs and with stunning views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the beach offers a picturesque setting ideal for relaxation or photography. Unlike the larger, busier beaches in Amalfi or Positano, this beach provides a more intimate experience, ideal for travelers looking to unwind away from the crowds. The crystal-clear waters are calm, making it a perfect spot for swimming or snorkeling.
Things to Do Nearby Lannio Beach

Its history as a fishing hub is evident in its quiet streets, colorful houses, and working harbor. The town is also renowned for colatura di alici, an ancient anchovy-based sauce that is a staple of the local cuisine. Speaking of local cuisine, you definitely have to try pizza, pasta dishes, fresh seafood, local desserts, wines and liqueurs like Limoncello.
Finally, from Cetara’s harbor, you can book a boat ride to explore nearby coves or visit other Amalfi Coast gems like Vietri sul Mare, Ravello, or even Capri with its marvelous sea caves.
